Applied Behavior Analysis

Our intervention, is often conducted in the home setting, to target behavior in the Natural Environment. We use DTT and VB programs in conjunction with behavior change designs to form quantitative results of its effectiveness. A curriculum based tool may be used to develop programs for the acquisition of skills.
Verbal Behavior (VB), developed by B.F. Skinner, is used for the acquisition and maintenance of skills, typically in a 1:1 setting, using Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT). DTT is the method of instruction that breaks a skill into the smallest units, teaching one unit at a time, to ensure mastery, adding subsequent units to form the entire skill. The skill is then targeted for generalization across instructors, settings, stimuli, and time.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the science used to conceptually and systematically modify behavior. A Behavior Assessment (BA) is generally implemented initially, to gather information pertaining to undesired behaviors targeted for behavior modification. A Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) can be developed to begin intervention, based on the hypothetical function of the behavior, and is assessed graphically. A Functional Analysis (FA) can be implemented using a behavior change design for the desired behavior change.
