King, NC (PRWEB) January 7, 2012

January 2 edition of The Today Show, CNBC personal finance correspondent Sharon Epperson recommended pet sitting as one of five ways to earn extra money in 2012. American families with children are more animals, pet sitting is certainly demand and the animal-related activities are doing better than most of this economy. But, if you? Think again of becoming a pet sitter just to earn extra money as suggested, Patti Moran, Pet Sitters International president, the world’s? Largest association of professional training for pet sitters, said:? Not so fast.?

? Sitting pet is more than love animals and have a business card printed up or register with a sit-line service? Moran warned. ? Pet pet sitters owners entrust the care of their animals and access to their homes? And this means that there are severe cases and legal implications for pet sitters.

Moran recommended that anyone who is interested to offer pet-sitter search services to local needs to operate a business legally and get a pet sitter liability insurance and bonding. Without this protection, the keepers of animals could be personally liable for any damage that occurs in the home of a client? S or animal while in their care. Similarly, pet owners should be cautious with any animal model can provide proof of such qualifications.

? In compliance with the animal sitting can be physically and emotionally demanding work? said Scott Black, 2010 Pet Sitter of the Year? and owner of Personal Touch Pet Sitting Inc., Kingwood, Texas. ? Sitting includes animals in the early morning, late at night, unusual requests, and the high probability of becoming attached to his customers? domestic animals. This career has so many awards, but it can take its toll when an animal dies or has to move with its owner.

PSI has trained thousands of professional sitters

animals for almost 18 years and strives to promote high quality standards in the industry. Its nearly 7,000 member companies service more than 740,000 families and run more than 18.5 million pet-sitting visits per year, based on its 2010 State of the Industry Survey.

? Most people who enter Professional Pet-sitting on the ground to do so because of their love for animals? said Moran. ? PSI is trying to help these lovers of the animals you see? S a lot more to run a successful business. Perhaps the main reason people leave the industry because they do not look at the overall picture of the pet sitting involves before starting their services. If it were as simple as a quick way for animal lovers to earn extra money, everyone would be a pet sitter?
